hello. this is about Abby
I am a born and raised Oregonian and although there are so many other amazing places [that I enjoy visiting], Oregon will always be home. I grew up visiting Bend during our summer camping trips and there is no better location for our wedding planning home!
I am the baby in my family and have two older sisters. I was born creative. One day while my mom was at work and my dad was in charge, my mom came home to find me drawing on the car with a rock. I don’t remember this, but I’m sure I was creating something beautiful, I’m sure! [Thanks dad for letting me express my creativity!] When I got a little older I would go help my aunt decorate for the holidays and bake themed sugar cookies. One year when I was about 5, I asked her what our theme was for Halloween, cats or candy-corns? She had to remind me of this, but there’s no doubt that question came out of my mouth. Even at a young age I was planning and organizing style ideas. I can remember being quite young and making a piece of art that said, “DO NOT ENTER” and hanging it on my bedroom door so I could surprise my parents with my first bedroom makeover. I’m not sure why they allowed me to struggle moving furniture when I was that young, or maybe they didn’t really allow it, but I was just stubborn and did it anyway… pretty sure it was the last thought. Whatever the case, I’ve had a passion for styling from a very young age.
In high school, I was involved in leadership and student council and as a senior, elected student body president. My slogan was, “Don’t be crabby, vote for Abby,” and as you can imagine with a slogan like that, I had awesome campaign posters! I loved planning and coordinating the school’s events like parades, prom, homecoming, and helping and taking charge of anything that needed a poster, something decorated, or t-shirts designed. In college, I studied graphic design and worked my way through as the bridal consultant lead at Bed Bath & Beyond – any chance to chat with couples about their weddings, sign me up! After graduating I worked several freelance gigs and also became the lead designer for an online stationery company specifically focusing on wedding invitations. ae creative was born slightly after and wrapped together everything I was passionate about – weddings, events, helping people and design!
I live in beautiful Bend, Oregon with my boyfriend, The BroomsmAn, fur-kids Watson the hairy pug & Trudie the adorable westie, and Charlie the blue-eyed kitty. I love thrifting and sourcing special items to be used in events, road tripping, an occasional camp out and I love that I get to do what I love and am passionate about everyday!
